Aviation

My father instilled in me a passion for aviation. When I was young he would take us to the airport to watch the airplanes land and takeoff. This was in the days when the only airport in Houston, Texas, was Houston International. They now call it "Hobby Airport" and it has the ICAO designation KHOU. We would watch the Super Constellations from KLM, the Boeing 707's, the Convair 880's, and the Trans Texas DC3's takeoff and land.

My passion continued when my mother remarried and airline pilot, Jack Roman. Jack had seen the Flying Boats in Miami as a kid and that inspired him to become a pilot. He flew DC4's, Boeing 707's, and BAC1-11's before retiring.

I learned to fly in Germany at the "Motorflugschule" in Egelsbach. I highly recommend anyone wishing to learn to fly to contact them. They are great people and great teachers. Here is their contact information:

The website for the Egelsbach airport is here:

I am always willing to take somebody up with me, so if you should wish a ride just send me an Email.
